One sunny morning, Ellie the Elephant found a shiny red balloon tied to a bush in the jungle. Curious, she tugged at the string with her trunk, and POP! The balloon lifted her gently into the air. “Oh my, I’m flying!” Ellie trumpeted.

Up she floated, higher than the tallest trees. She waved at her monkey friend Max, who was swinging on vines. “Look, Max, I’m flying!” Ellie called. Max clapped his hands and shouted, “Bring me back bananas from the clouds!”

Ellie giggled as the wind carried her past a flock of colorful parrots. “Hello, Ellie!” squawked Polly Parrot. “Want to join our cloud parade?” The parrots made silly loops and twirls, and Ellie joined in, holding tight to her balloon.

Suddenly, Ellie noticed the jungle far below. She missed her friends! “Balloon, can we go home now?” she asked. The balloon wiggled gently and began to float back down.

With a soft plop, Ellie landed right where she started. Max and Polly ran to greet her. “Did you bring cloud bananas?” Max teased. Ellie laughed. “No bananas, but I brought stories!”

That evening, Ellie told her friends all about her sky-high adventure, and they dreamed of flying, too.
